Dream Bus

Dream Bus’ is an exposure trip aimed at giving an opportunity to urban youth and adolescents to get exposed to some of the very basic and sustainable livelihood methods in practice in rural setups. It also aims to establish the much needed connect or dialogue between people from the two strata’s of the society (villages & cities). The project dwells on the belief that experiencing the basic methods of livelihood practiced by people in rural areas will not only help in understanding these potential future ways of sustainability but also facilitates a knowledge & learning about various cultures and bonds which further proves to be productive in building a better society.
This was the first edition of the trip and the journey took place between two points (starting at Jaipur and ending or rather restarting at Tilonia).  It had 13 participants including two school girls. The whole journey involved processes including visits to various initiatives of the Barefoot college, games & activities, reflective exercises, group exercises and sessions on stereotypes etc.
At the end of the day it turned out to be a very successful edition which is reflected from the following words of the participants: ‘please organize the next Dream Bus soon’.
The ended with a feeling of adventure, thoughtful learning , energy and new bonds on the part of participants and a sense of satiation, bliss and hopes for the facilitators and organizers.
